Yoichi Apple Green Tea is a wonderful fruity tea made of Akane apples from Yoichi - the famed orchard district of Hokkaido - blended with the healthful Yame green tea of Fukuoka, in southern Japan.
Akane red apples are carefully chosen from quality local orchards in Yoichi, an orchard town that dates back to before the founding of Hokkaido. Pulp from the apples is cut and dried to preserve the sweetness of the fresh fruit, then blended with Yame green tea, renowned for its rich, sweet taste and nutrients (i.e. theanine, glutamic acid and arginine).
The resulting tea is a delicious blend of fruit and leaf, bringing out the healthful qualities of both the apples and green tea in a brew that can be enjoyed either hot or cold. Within Hokkaido, this tea is only available for sale in the Yoichi area, making it a true specialty item.
A little known fact is that cold-brewed green tea contains as little as 10% of the caffeine of hot-brewed green tea. Green tea is ideal when brewed for 1 - 3 minutes, depending on personal preference, in 75°C spring/purified water. Available in packs of 10 tea bags.
