About the Product
Buckwheat (soba) tea - from the sunny, white-flower soba fields of Hokkaido - is an aromatic, flavorful and healthy brew with a unique flavor that lingers on the palate. Although soba noodles are internationally known, soba tea is a connoisseur's drink.
Soba-cha (buckwheat tea) is a soothing cup of a golden-yellow, fragrant tea that is packed with minerals, fiber, vitamin B and Rutin - the last is an antioxidant polyphenol which helps maintain good health and protects against various diseases.
Each bag contains 100% Hokkaido-grown, Dattan Tartary soba seeds. Tartary seeds differ from the standard seeds used for noodle-making, and have long been recognized in east Asia for their medicinal qualities. In particular the plant compound Rutin is found in far higher concentrations in Tartary seeds, which makes it beneficial for heart and blood conditions, as well as gut health. Soba tea is also gluten and caffeine free.
To Brew: Pour boiling water over a tablespoon (5g per person) of the soba seeds in a teapot, steep for 3 minutes. This high quality soba tea can be used for up to 6-7 brews! It is recommended to drink for rehydration, after a hot bath and before sleep.
