Acorn Pendant & Earrings Set
About the Product
Beautiful pendant and earring sets, crafted from real acorn “cups” atop hand-made colored glass "nuts" are the beautiful creations of a husband & wife team in Sapporo. The combination of hand-crafted colored glass nestled in nature’s perfect acorn caps is both unique and naturally simple in its aesthetics.
The artists gather Mongolian Oak tree acorns in the forests of Hokkaido, and after boiling the “cups” and carefully sun-drying each piece, they are ready to create their popular pendant and earring sets.
Choose your favorite from a range of colored glass: amber, lavender, sky blue, yellow and hazel. Leaves are made of leather or glass, while the metal elements are made from brass, tin and rhodium-plated tin alloy. There is a choice of either pierce or clip-on type earrings. Each acorn and glass crafting is unique, so products may vary in exact color and shape.
about the producer
Budou no Mi is the artistic creation of a husband and wife team in Sapporo, Hokkaido, that brings together glass making techniques and one of nature’s most charming nut casings in a series of accessories that have a loyal and growing group of collectors. Originally, Ms. Chiaki Fujinuma studied glass making in Otaru, the Hokkaido city long-famed as a glass blowing center. Later, she started creating accessories in her home and selling them online and at local markets. As the popularity of her creations spread, her husband, Mr. Satoshi Fujinuma, took early retirement and joined the business. They eventually opened their own shop in 2006. Their creative vision is the natural beauty of glass and light, in collaboration with acorns that they gather in the forests of Hokkaido. Through word of mouth, their earring & pendant pieces are gaining in popularity as specialty accessories, each crafted with high skill and artistic sense. |
